GSL Education are seeking a dedicated Cover Supervisor to join a dynamic school in Sunderland. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain valuable experience and support students in their academic journey.

About the Role

As a Cover Supervisor, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the continuity of education for students. You will supervise classes during the short-term absence of teachers, ensuring that students remain engaged and on task. Your role will involve delivering pre-prepared lessons, managing classroom behavior, and supporting students in their learning. You will work closely with teachers and other staff to ensure that all students have the support they need to succeed.

Key Responsibilities of Cover Supervisor

Supervise classes during the short-term absence of teachers.
Deliver pre-prepared lessons and ensure students remain engaged and on task.
Manage classroom behavior and create a positive learning environment.
Support students in their learning and assistance as needed.
Monitor and record students’ progress and provide feedback to teachers.
Assist with the preparation of teaching materials and resources.
Requirements of Cover Supervisor

Previous experience as a Cover Supervisor or in a similar role is desirable.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
A genuine passion for education and supporting young adults.
Strong organizational and time-management skills.
To work with GSL Education as a Cover Supervisor, you will need:

Have the right to work in the UK.
Have an up-to-date CV with two relevant references from within the last 2 years.
Have an enhanced DBS registered to the Updated Service or be happy to apply for one with GSL Education.
