Job Role: Design and Technology (DT) Teacher for a Secondary School in Rugeley

Location: Rugeley, Staffordshire
Contract Type: Full-time
Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience

Aspire People are seeking a passionate and skilled Design and Technology Teacher to join a vibrant and forward-thinking secondary school in Rugeley. The ideal candidate will inspire students with engaging lessons and practical activities, encouraging creativity and problem-solving skills in design and technology.

Key Responsibilities:
Plan, deliver, and assess high-quality DT lessons across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 (KS5 teaching is desirable).
Foster a creative and practical approach to learning, covering areas such as product design, graphics, and resistant materials.
Develop students' understanding of design processes, technology, and engineering concepts.
Contribute to extracurricular activities related to Design and Technology, such as after-school clubs or competitions.
Collaborate with colleagues to develop and enhance the DT curriculum.
Maintain a positive, engaging, and well-managed classroom environment.
Support students' personal development and academic progress.
Requirements:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a relevant degree in Design and Technology or a related field.
Experience teaching Design and Technology at Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 (KS5 experience is a plus).
A strong understanding of the design process and practical skills in relevant areas of DT.
Passionate about inspiring students and helping them achieve their potential.
Excellent communication and organisational skills.
Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently.
A clear DBS check.
