Buyer - The Company:
Our client is a very well established and renowned construction design & build contractor with a vast client base within the ultra high-end residential sector with refurbisgment projects to properties starting at 10,000 sq. ft and a typical project refurbishment value of over £1 million. often to listed buildings or stately homes.
Buyer - The Role:
A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced Buyer to join the team. This position will report to the Director and work closely with site teams to ensure efficient and cost effective procurement of materials, labour and sub-contractors across all sites.
Typical duties & responsibilities:
* Assist with material specification at design stage
* Generate tender documentation, seek competitive quotations, negotiate the best possible price and place orders for all materials purchased directly by the company
* Negotiate Group term deals, fixed price agreements and retrospective rebates.
* Establish and maintain a library of products and prices.
* Assist the Commercial Manager / QS iProject Managers in cost exercises, tender analysis and pricing purchaser’s extras
* Control the Company’s use of plant and hired equipment.
* Highlight any discrepancies on drawings.
Buyer - The Person
* You will have solid experience with a main contractor
* Demonstrable experience in a dedicated Buyer role
* Experience in high end refurbishment projects
* Innovative - ability to identify better ways of doing things
* A good team player, someone who wants to be part of a growing business to achieve common goals.
