Location: Tewkesbury
Salary: £26,000 DOE + live in accommodation
Overview: First Military Recruitment are currently seeking a Stable Hand on behalf of one of our clients.
Our client encourages applications from ex-military personnel however all candidates will be given due consideration.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Oversee the feeding, grooming and overall care of the horses to ensure their health and well-being.
Develop and implement feeding schedules, vaccination protocols and deworming programs.
Monitor horses for signs of illness or injury and arrange for veterinary care when necessary.
Maintain and manage the stable facility, ensuring cleanliness, safety and functionality.
Oversee the maintenance and repair of barns, stables, fences, arenas and other equestrian facilities.
Manage supply inventory, including feed, bedding, tack and equipment.
Develop and implement protocols for manure management, manure disposal and pasture rotation.
Monitor and maintain the quality of the footing in riding areas.
Skills and Qualifications:
Full UK Driving Licence.
Extensive knowledge of horse care, nutrition, health and horsemanship.
Experience in stable management or a related field, demonstrating leadership and organisational skills.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with clients, staff and vendors.
Ability to manage and prioritise multiple tasks and responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
Knowledge of equine safety guidelines and regulations.
Certification in equine management or related fields is an advantage
