About the role: We are seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join a vibrant, inclusive primary school in Camden, London. This is a full-time, long-term role where you will work closely with the SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator) and class teachers to provide tailored support to students with a range of additional needs, including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, and more.

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a crucial role in helping children overcome barriers to learning, build confidence, and achieve their academic goals. You will work 1:1 or in small groups, depending on the needs of the students, ensuring that each child receives the attention and care they need to thrive.

Application Requirements:

• Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant, particularly in an SEN setting (preferred but not essential).
• A genuine passion for working with children and supporting their educational development.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude towards challenges.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide 1:1 and small group support for students with SEN, including ASD and SEMH needs.
• Assist class teachers in implementing individualised education plans (IEPs).
• Help create a safe, stimulating, and inclusive learning environment for all students.
• Use creative approaches to engage students in their learning and social development.
• Monitor student progress and provide feedback to teachers and the SENCO.
