A popular, community-focused primary school in Clapham are looking for a SEN Teaching Assistant to join their Resource base to start in January.

The Role

In this SEN Teaching Assistant role you will be supporting two pupils in year 4/5 with Special Educational Needs. The children's needs are complex and they will need support with their behaviour as well as accessing activities in the classroom. The children can display challenging behaviour and will require you to de-escalate situations and remove the children in order to calm down situations. The school is well-resourced to support children with SEN and you will work closely with experienced staff and have access to specialist areas to support the child.

The school are looking for an SEN teaching assistant who is very confident and to provide support to children with this level of complex needs.

The school are open to applications from Special Needs Teaching Assistants with previous experience or care settings, or passionate and committed individuals looking to enter the sector.

This role is offered on a contract basis from January until the end of the academic year.

The School 

This oversubscribed two form entry primary school is based close to Clapham Common. The school benefits from excellent facilities including music rooms, forest school in woodland and a technology suite.  The school works hard to build relationships with children and families, ensuring that all children are known, valued and their individual needs recognised and met. Staff have high expectations of pupils and results at the school are consistently good. There is a dedicated leadership team in place ensuring both staff and pupils feel valued and have opportunities to develop their careers.
