HGV Technician Vacancy
Location: East London
Day Shift 4 on / 4 off,
6am – 6apm
Full time, Permanent role
I’m currently working with and on behalf of my client to secure qualified, highly skilled and motivated HGV Technicians for their workshop in the East London area.
The role:
Night Shift 4 on, 4 off
* 48 hours per week 06.00 - 18.00 - Overtime rates at 1.5 x hourly rate.
* Standby and call out fees additional to these rates.
We are looking for qualified and time served HGV Technicians who can demonstrate a thorough understanding of commercial vehicle mechanical dynamics.
You will be working on my clients bespoke fleet of HGV's, rigids and Light Commercial Vehicles. Ensuring the very highest standards are kept and adhered to,
Vehicle Engineers with strong diagnostic skills using modern equipment are particularly of interest.
If you have experience of working on refirdgerated associated FMCG goods vehicles this would also be of interest, however not critical.
You can expect to be situated in a positive and vibrant working environment where your efforts will be rewarded. A skills shortage can be trained by way of upskilling. What cannot be trained however is the right attitude and the desire to give your clients a first-class service.
You will be carrying out inspections to a varied and diverse fleet.
You could be working on main dealer heavy goods vehicles (HGV’s) road tankers, all manner of tractor units and trailer units, curtain sided and rigids.
The type of work you can expect to be carrying out includes (but is not limited to)
* Routine (and preventative) maintenance
* MOT preparation
* Scheduled servicing to DVSA standards
* 6 (or 8) weekly inspections
* Correction of running defects
* Chassis and fabrication work
* Hydraulics and pneumatics
* Improvement of vehicle standards
* Electrical and wiring inspections and correction.
Requirements:
Ideally you will be fully qualified (City & Guilds), NVQ or equivalent.
Additional accreditations such as IRTEC or an EV qualification would be desirable, as would an HGV Class 1 or Class 2 licence.
