Job Advertisement: Science Teacher (Years 3-7)

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Science Teacher to join a dedicated team in supporting vulnerable children with special educational needs. This is a full-time, temporary-to-permanent role covering Years 3-7 across three closely located sites in the Wirral area.

The schools serve children who have been unable to attend mainstream education due to their special educational needs. These include social, emotional, or mental health issues, and some students may display challenging behaviours. The ideal candidate will be a resilient and compassionate professional with experience working in similar settings.

Key Responsibilities

Plan and deliver engaging science lessons tailored to the needs of students in Years 3-7.
Adapt teaching strategies to accommodate individual learning needs and behavioural challenges.
Provide a nurturing and supportive environment to foster both academic and personal growth.
Work collaboratively with other staff to implement strategies that support students with SEMH and other complex needs.
Maintain consistent communication with parents, carers, and external agencies as required.
Promote positive behaviour and implement school policies to ensure a safe and productive learning environment.
Requirements

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
Experience teaching science, preferably in settings catering to children with special educational needs.
A resilient, patient, and empathetic approach to teaching and classroom management.
Familiarity with working with students who exhibit challenging behaviours.
The ability to travel between three sites within the Wirral area.
Strong commitment to improving outcomes for vulnerable children.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
