Are you passionate about supporting children with additional learning needs and helping them achieve their full potential? Vision for Education is seeking a caring and motivated SEN Teaching Assistant to join a dedicated team at a specialist primary school in Cardiff. This role is ideal for individuals with experience in supporting children with complex needs and managing challenging behaviour.

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will create a positive and inclusive learning environment. You will work closely with the class teacher to provide tailored support to students on a 1:1 basis or in small groups, assisting with classroom activities and implementing effective behaviour management strategies.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide individualised support to students with a range of additional learning needs, including autism, ADHD, and speech and language difficulties.
Help students engage with the curriculum by adapting tasks and resources to meet their needs.
Manage and de-escalate challenging behaviours calmly and supportively.
Build positive, trusting relationships with students to enhance their confidence.
Carry out personal care duties when necessary, including feeding and toileting, ensuring the dignity and well-being of the student.
Collaborate with teachers, parents, and external professionals for the best outcomes.
The Ideal Candidate:

Experience working with children with additional learning needs in a school or similar setting.
A patient, empathetic, and nurturing approach.
Strong communication skills to build rapport with children, staff, and families.
Confidence in managing challenging behaviour and promoting positive choices.
Willingness to provide personal care when required.
