SEN – 1:1 Learning Support Assistant

Location: Edgbaston, B15

Salary: £90 - £105 per day

Hours: Full Time

Start Date: ASAP

Here at Willo Education, we are currently working closely with a Primary School in the Edgbaston area, who are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Learning Support Assistant who will be working 1:1 with a young boy in Year 3. The little boy who has SEN can be challenging and is looking for someone who has patience, experience and someone who can keep him engaged with lessons. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference of a child’s Education who has Special Educational Needs.

Is working with young children who have Special Educational Needs something you enjoy?

If so, this may be the perfect opportunity for you

The school is a very supportive and welcoming environment where they ensure that every child has access to a high-quality education, regardless of their background or abilities. Their aim is to be able to have a positive impact on not only the young people’s education qualities but their future that lays ahead of them also. As well as continuing to build a strong school and deliver first-class education, it is also their desire to build an interconnected community, recognising that education needs to not exist in isolation from the needs of the whole person. They bond closely with the parents/carers of their pupils, which is a great chance for them to find out what their child has been learning in each of the areas of the curriculum and to see more about where their talents lie. They have a great team of experienced and compassionate teachers, support staff and specialists who are committed to the well-being and progress of all children.

Your key responsibilities as a Learning Support Assistant are:

* To provide tailored 1:1 support towards the child, both inside and outside of the classroom.

* Assist with learning activities, ensuring the child is engaged and supported.

* Work collaboratively with the teachers and other staff to implement individual education plans.

* Support the child’s emotional and social development, promoting a positive and inclusive learning environment.

* Monitor and report the progress to the teacher and SENCO as needed.

You must have:

* Experience working with children who have SEN.

* Right To Work in the UK.

* 2 sufficient references.

* Up to date DBS.

* Strong communication skills.

* Reliability.

* Adaptability.

Willo Education is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of pupils and expects every candidate to share this commitment. Placements are subject, to appropriate Child Protection screening, including checks with former employers and the Disclosure and Barring Checks.
