Excell Supply are seeking a passionate, enthusiastic, and talented Music Teacher to join our clients dynamic arts department. The successful candidate will be dedicated to inspiring students’ love for music, fostering their creativity, and helping them develop their musical skills. This position involves teaching general music, vocal, and/or instrumental classes to students KS3-KS4. The Music Teacher will play a key role in supporting students’ growth through engaging lessons, concerts, and performances.
Key Responsibilities:
* Develop and implement music curricula forKS3 - KS4 students that encourage creativity, skill development, and an appreciation for music.
* Teach general music, choir, band, or orchestra based on qualifications and school needs.
* Organise and direct student performances, concerts, and recitals throughout the school year.
* Introduce students to music theory, history, and a variety of genres to broaden their musical understanding.
* Assess student progress through observation, tests, assignments, and performances, providing regular feedback to students and parents.
* Maintain classroom organization, including the care of musical instruments and equipment.
* Collaborate with fellow teachers and staff to create a well-rounded educational experience for all students.
* Foster a positive, inclusive learning environment that encourages students of all backgrounds and skill levels to participate.
* Support extracurricular music activities, such as jazz band, chamber ensembles, or musical theater productions.
Qualifications:
* Bachelor’s degree in Music Education, Music Performance, or related field; Master’s degree preferred.
* Valid teaching certification in Music
* Previous teaching experience in music education
* Proficiency in one or more musical instruments and/or vocal training.
* Strong classroom management skills and the ability to inspire students of varying abilities.
* Excellent communication and organizational skills.
* Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues, students, and parents.
Preferred Skills:
* Experience with music technology and software
* Knowledge of diverse musical genres and cultural musical traditions.
* Experience directing school ensembles (choir, band, orchestra) or theater productions
