We are now seeking a passionate and skilled SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team and support our students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).
Role Overview:
As a SEN Teaching Assistant specializing in ASD support at the secondary level, you will play a crucial role in facilitating the academic, social, and emotional development of students with ASD. Your primary responsibility will be to provide individualized support, create a conducive learning environment, and collaborate with our dedicated staff to ensure that every student with ASD has an inclusive and fulfilling educational experience.
Key Responsibilities:
Work one-on-one or in small groups with students with ASD, providing academic and behavioral support.
Assist in the development and implementation of Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) for students with ASD.
Foster positive social interactions and communication skills among students with ASD.
Utilize visual aids, sensory supports, and other strategies to enhance learning and understanding.
Collaborate closely with classroom teachers, therapists, and parents to ensure a coordinated and holistic approach to support.
Support students during transitions and offer emotional support as needed.
Maintain accurate records of student progress and communicate regularly with relevant stakeholders.
Participate in relevant training and professional development opportunities to enhance your expertise in ASD support.Qualifications and Requirements:
A minimum of a bachelor's degree in Special Education, Psychology, or a related field.
Specialized training or experience in working with students with Autism Spectrum Disorder.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Patience, empathy, and the ability to adapt teaching strategies to meet individual student needs.
Knowledge of behavior management techniques and positive behavior support.
A commitment to promoting an inclusive and nurturing learning environment.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work collaboratively as part of a dedicated educational team.How to Apply:
