Senior Estimator - Dry Lining

Fairmead is recruiting on behalf of a valued client, a reputable contractor specialising in dry lining. Based in Watford, this company has earned a strong reputation for delivering high-quality dry lining services to notable clients across London and the surrounding areas.

They are now looking for an experienced Senior Estimator to join their team. This role offers a market-leading salary of £75,000–£85,000 per annum, complemented by a generous bonus scheme and package. The company also offers excellent flexibility, including options for working from home and flexible working hours.

The successful candidate will report directly to the Commercial Director and take the lead on estimating projects ranging from £500k to £10 million. Projects focus primarily on residential developments, including high-rise builds.

Key Responsibilities

* Prepare detailed cost estimates and tender submissions for various dry lining projects, ensuring all client requirements are met.

* Lead the estimation of dry lining systems, including gypsum board, plastering, metal stud partitions, and suspended ceilings.

* Review tender documents, architectural drawings, specifications, and subcontractor proposals to ensure accurate pricing.

* Collaborate with project management teams to identify cost-effective solutions and ensure projects stay within budget and schedule.

* Maintain strong relationships with subcontractors and suppliers to secure competitive quotations that meet project specifications.

* Mentor and support junior estimators, providing guidance and expertise.

* Provide regular updates to the Commercial Director regarding project estimates, changes, forecasts, and potential risks.

Key Requirements

* Significant experience as an Estimator, specialising in dry lining systems such as plasterboard, metal stud partitions, and ceilings.

* Proven track record in pricing and estimating for dry lining projects, with strong knowledge of materials, installation methods, and associated costs.

* Solid understanding of the construction process, particularly for dry lining systems.

* Excellent knowledge of current industry standards, building regulations, and specifications related to dry lining.

* Ability to interpret technical drawings and tender documents specific to dry lining projects.

* Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage client and subcontractor relationships.

* High proficiency in estimation software and Microsoft Office.

* A qualification in Quantity Surveying, Estimating, or a related field is advantageous but not essential.
