Clinical Nurse Specialist – ADHD/ASD

Finegreen are currently supporting a large NHS organisation in the appointment of a senior nursing professional on an interim basis, who has specialist knowledge in the area of childhood ADHD/ASD.
Working within a multi-disciplinary team, will contribute to the assessment, diagnosis, and support of children with neurodevelopmental disorders, including Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).

This will include undertaking medication reviews which involve independent prescribing. Contribute to the redesign and development of services and pathways delivered from the Child Development Centre to meet the needs of the children.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide specialist advice and nursing care in keeping with NICE guidance, and local guidelines around treatment options and age-appropriate care to optimise treatment;
Contribute to multi-professional assessments of neurodevelopmental disorders in children and young people referred to the Child Development Centre using up to date and evidence based assessment techniques and tools, assessing information from education providers and parents/carers alongside observation of the young person;
This may include specialist assessments in various clinics across the trust, and observations in educational settings. This will include contributing to transition planning with adult services;
Provide specialist nursing expertise within and across professional boundaries and develop and streamline Child/Young person care pathways between professionals/partners and in collaboration with other partners.
Ideal Candidate:

Must be registered Nurse/ Learning Disability (RNLD), Mental Health (RNMH) Children’s Nurse (RNC);
Extensive experience of titrating doses of ADHD medication/V300 independent nurse practitioner; Ability to complete ADHD medication reviews on children and young people;
Require extensive experience with working with children in young people with ADHD for this post and be confident titrating doses moving from 1st-2nd third line treatments as required.
