Children's Social Worker - Assessment and Safe and Supported Teams

£35 per hour

We are seeking experienced and committed Children's Social Workers to join our dynamic Assessment and Safe and Supported Teams at North Tyneside Council. These teams play a vital role in safeguarding children, promoting their well-being, and ensuring they receive the support they need.

About the Role:

As a Children's Social Worker, you will:

* Undertake comprehensive assessments of children and families to identify their needs and risks

* Develop and implement effective care plans to safeguard children and promote their well-being

* Work collaboratively with a range of professionals, including police, health, and education, to ensure a coordinated approach to child protection

* Provide high-quality casework, including direct work with children and families, and liaising with external agencies

* Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in line with statutory requirements

* Attend court hearings and other legal proceedings as required

About You:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

* A relevant social work qualification (e.g., DipSW, CQSW, MSW)

* Significant experience in child protection work, including assessments and case management

* A strong understanding of child development, safeguarding principles, and relevant legislation

* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with children, families, and professionals

* A commitment to safeguarding children and promoting their well-being

* A flexible approach to work, including the ability to work outside of standard office hours when required
