We’re BDO. An accountancy and business advisory firm, providing the advice and solutions entrepreneurial organisations need to navigate today’s changing world.

We work with the companies that are Britain’s economic engine – ambitious, entrepreneurially-spirited and high‑growth businesses that fuel the economy - and directly advise the owners and management teams that lead them.

We’ll broaden your horizons

As a firm our focus on delivering quality audit work for the benefit of the public interest is our key priority. Our Audit teams are essential, not just to BDO, but to the whole economy. With specialist knowledge of sectors, markets and geographies; our auditors have the business understanding necessary to deliver the high quality and robust audits that companies and their stakeholders can trust. As part of our Audit team, you'll receive the support you need to reach your potential. From completing professional qualifications to developing new skills and exploring different learning opportunities, you’ll join a friendly and diverse team whose work really matters. Use your skills to build a career in Audit at BDO.

We’ll help you succeed

Leading organisations trust us because of the quality of our advice. That quality grows from a thorough understanding of their business, and that understanding comes from working closely with them and building long-lasting relationships.

You’ll be someone who is both comfortable working proactively and managing your own tasks, as well as confident collaborating with others and communicating regularly with senior managers, directors, and BDO’s partners to help businesses effectively. You’ll be encouraged to identify and draw attention to opportunities for enhancing our delivery and providing additional services to organisations we work with.

In this role you will assist and support the Senior Finance Manager and Sector Leads in managing the financial performance of the London Audit Group on strategic issues and on a day-to-day basis as well as providing relevant support, advice and guidance to the overall team within the business unit on financial matters. You’ll also:

Regularly liaise with the central Finance function, overseeing the month end and year end processes for several sectors within the London Audit Group (LAG), reporting back to the Senior Finance Manager on performance and risks.

Work alongside the Senior Finance Manager to oversee the annual budget for LAG, liaising with the sector leads and central Finance team as appropriate and overseeing the input of the data into the Firm’s budget model.

Ensure bills, recoveries and cash collections are managed effectively and efficiently; challenging performance in these areas where required and agreeing appropriate action to take when issues arise.

Promote the agreed KPIs for Audit within LAG and work with the sectors to monitor these.

Work closely with the LAG and National Finance team to improve reporting and management information and drive consistency within the sectors.

Trend analysis with timely identification of causes of risks/ problems with prompt suggestion for relevant actions, particularly including revenue, recoverability, staff utilisation, work in progress, debt.

Manage the LAG Finance Analyst, providing opportunities for development and growth within the team.

You’ll be someone with:

Project Management, team leadership and delegation skills with a collaborative, participative approach and the ability to engage, inspire and influence people at all levels in the organisation.

Strong leadership and influencing skills to enable proactive relationships with business leaders.

Capable of contributing to the strategic agenda with strong operational skills

Partnership experience desirable

You’ll be able to be yourself; we’ll recognise and value you for who you are and celebrate and reward your contributions to the business. We’re committed to agile working, and we offer every colleague the opportunity to work in ways that suit you, your teams, and the task at hand.

At BDO, we’ll help you achieve your personal goals and career ambitions, and we have programmes, resources, and frameworks that provide clarity and structure around career development.
