Programme Manager - £750 per day - Inside IR35 - Primarily Remote - 12 months initial contract .
My client, one of the UKs leading ZERO CARBON energy providers, is looking for an experienced Programme Manager to join them a contract basis. Working alongside the Business Improvement Team that oversees complex programs across the company, focusing on strategic risk management, operational excellence, and continuous improvement to deliver sustainable business outcomes.
Role Summary: As the Programme Manager you will be accountable for recruiting, directing, and overseeing the team involved in delivering our critical risk management and business transformation programs. With end-to-end responsibility, you’ll ensure that programs and projects are delivered within scope, budget, and schedule, aligning with the PMF Framework. This role requires a proactive leader experienced in large-scale, multi-directorate program delivery, with strong stakeholder management and change management capabilities.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee the planning, scoping, and execution of complex programs and projects, ensuring alignment with the PMF Framework or other applicable methodologies.
Assume ownership of program and project budgets, driving financial accountability and resource allocation.
Identify, assess, and mitigate risks to current and future programs, collaborating closely with relevant stakeholders.
Define business benefits and Return on Investment (ROI) for each program, creating and tracking a benefits realization plan.
Build and lead a high-performing team to support program and project goals effectively.
Ensure compliance with company technology strategies, security standards, and governance policies.
Maintain key relationships across the group of companies, fostering alignment on program objectives.
Engage and manage vendors and suppliers critical to program delivery.
Align program and project outcomes with the companys digital strategy and enterprise architecture standards.
Guide business colleagues through program transformations, ensuring effective communication and change management support.
Ensure appropriate governance, such as Program Boards or Business Change Boards, to provide oversight and enable decision-making.
Track program progress through detailed planning and update documentation, including RAAID logs, Gate Papers, and Project Initiation Documents (PIDs).
Oversee dependency management across programs and prevent siloed work and duplication.
Qualifications & Experience:
Demonstrated experience in managing large-scale, multi-directorate business transformation programs.
Proven change management expertise with the ability to lead stakeholders through complex transitions.
Experience in IT, digitalization, or similar technical program management roles is beneficial.
Strong knowledge of program and project management methodologies (SAFe, PMP, APM, Prince2 preferred).
Familiarity with Enterprise Risk Management practices is desirable.
Experience with Lean or Operational Excellence methodologies is advantageous.
Skills:
Excellent organizational and prioritization abilities, capable of balancing multiple projects.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with confidence in engaging stakeholders at all levels.
Proficiency in MS365 tools, including Excel, Project, Visio, and PowerPoint.
Analytical skills with attention to detail, able to produce clear, insightful reports.
Ability to operate within a matrix team, engaging technical and non-technical team members alike
