Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant (Primary School Based)

Location: Oswestry, Shropshire

Days/Hours of Work: Monday to Friday (08:45am – 15:15pm)

Job Description:-

We are currently seeking passionate SEN Teaching Assistants to join a specialist primary school in Shrewsbury. The school provides a stimulating environment for children aged 3 to 11 years old, who have a statement of Autism or related communication disorders as their primary need. About the Role:-

* Establish supportive, caring, and secure relationships with children, promoting respect, self-esteem, and a positive attitude.

* Develop knowledge and understanding of the specific academic, physical, emotional, and behavioural/medical needs of the children, responding to them effectively.

* Support pupils with social and emotional needs in the learning process, working either 1:1 or with small groups, closely collaborating with the Class Teacher.

* Set up classrooms, prepare resources and displays, and assist the class teacher with other classroom aspects as required.

About You:

* Enhanced Child Workforce DBS.

* Minimum of 2 years of referencing.

* Excellent and inspirational classroom practitioner, demonstrating outstanding classroom practice with children at the heart of all you do.

* High expectations of pupils’ achievement and behaviour.

* Excellent communication and behaviour management skills.

* Experience working with children or adults in a caring capacity.

* Transferable skills such as teamwork, initiative, flexibility, adaptability, remaining calm under pressure, caring, and helpful.

* Right to work in the UK.
