About Us

Worksop College and Ranby House; one community set across two schools. We are proud to be a broad ability school, educating children from 2-18. We focus on progress, recognising that every child has their own skills and abilities—whether academic, sporting, musical, or otherwise. Education here is about more than just academic success; it’s about human flourishing. We aim for our students to become the best versions of themselves. Our school, with its stunning setting, exceptional facilities, and talented teaching staff, is a place where children can thrive and discover their potential.

We are looking for an outstanding candidate to provide the highest quality care and learning environment for children aged 2 to 4. The Early Years Teaching Assistant will support the Nursery Leader in delivering our Early Years Curriculum, inspiring, exciting, and nurturing children through this crucial stage of their development.

This Job Description outlines the main duties and responsibilities of the role, though other activities may be assigned from time to time in line with the role.

• Implement a child-centred, safe, and welcoming ‘Homely Environment’ within the EYFS Centre.
• Create a safe, stimulating, and varied programme of play and learning opportunities, ensuring planning meets the needs of individual children.
• Provide educational support for children with SEND and those with EAL needs, with help from the Head of Learning Support.
• Assess children’s progress, maintain records, and provide written reports to parents/carers in line with school policies and schedules.
• Carry out administrative duties related to the delivery of outstanding teaching, using technology to assist in lesson preparation, teaching, and reporting.
• Organise the inside and outside provision, ensuring that resources and equipment meet the needs of the children.
• Work closely with colleagues to ensure the daily care, supervision, and programmes are efficient and safe.

Leadership Responsibilities

• Take responsibility for implementing an appropriate programme for nursery children, involving stimulating and relevant activities to develop their physical, mental, thinking, and motor skills.

Benefits

• Monthly salary including holiday pay.
• Fee concessions for the children of any full-time teaching staff member who meets the school’s entry requirements.
• Lunch is provided when on duty; the school is known for its high-quality catering. Tea and coffee are available throughout the working day.
