Senior Health & Safety Specialist
Tilbury
£50,000 - £60,000 + benefits

Overview:
This is a major global Transport & Logistics business with a network of sites in the UK. They are now looking to appoint a Senior Health & Safety specialist who will hold accountability for the further development of Health & Safety programs across the business.

Key Responsibilities:

Responsible for reviewing, developing and improving Health & Safety policies, processes and procedures across the organisation ensuring that there is a consistency to roll out and performance across all sites and for all employees.
Seek opportunities to continuously improve working practices through effective and clear communication and collaboration with key stakeholders.
Carry out risk assessments, site inspections and audits to ensure compliance with regulations and industry standards.
Lead and support incident investigations, identify root causes and recommend corrective actions.
Develop Health & Safety training programs to be embedded in the business.
Collaborate closely with operational teams to promote a strong H&S culture, minimising accidents and incidents.
Monitor and report on Health & Safety performance.
Stay up to date with all relevant H&S legislation and best practices to ensure the company's ongoing compliance.
Coordinate emergency response plans.
Person Specification:

An experienced and proven Health & Safety professional preferably with some exposure to the Transport & Logistics sector.
Strong knowledge of Health & Safety regulations and compliance standards.
NEBOSH / IOSH qualification or equivalent certification in occupational Health & Safety.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and train at all levels.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Able to travel between sites as required.
Comfortable reporting at management level.
Self-motivated with strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
Experience with accident investigation and root cause analysis.
Experience working in a fast-paced environment with multiple stakeholders. Processing Your Data
