At Urenco we’re committed to giving you opportunities to be your best. If you feel you meet some, but not all of what we're looking for, please still apply. We believe in embracing the passion and potential of our people, and to achieve this we offer market leading training and development experiences. Along with the opportunity to be mentored and coached by some of the smartest minds in the industry.

What will your day look like?

As a Quality Engineer, your responsibilities will include:

Quality Control Plans (QCPs): Establish, apply, and maintain comprehensive quality control plans, ensuring they are implemented efficiently and accurately.
Data Analysis: Analyse medium to complex system data to inform decisions and drive precise execution throughout the organisation.
Project Involvement: Participate in the design and implementation phases of projects, ensuring that quality is embedded at every stage.
Continuous Improvement: Lead and drive continuous improvement initiatives, using quality data to resolve issues and improve processes.
Lessons Learned: Capture, document, and apply lessons learned from quality-related incidents to avoid recurrence and enhance future performance.
Regulatory Compliance: Stay informed of the latest regulatory requirements and coach internal teams on their application and proper usage.
Audits and Assessments: Conduct and support internal and external audits, evaluations, and assessments to ensure compliance with ISO, ASTM, DIN, BSI, and other relevant standards.
Supplier Quality Management: Perform supplier inspections to ensure that their quality standards align with Urenco’s requirements and project expectations.
What do you need to thrive in this role?

Technical Background: A solid foundation in engineering (electrical or mechanical), with a clear understanding of technical business processes.
Standards Expertise: In-depth knowledge of international quality standards, including ISO, ASTM, DIN, and BSI.
Quality Control Experience: Proven experience in establishing and maintaining quality control processes, including the development of integrated QCPs.
Certification & Auditing: Experience with certification processes in technical industries and the ability to conduct quality audits and supplier inspections.
Data Analysis Skills: Ability to analyse complex data sets and use them to make informed decisions.
Problem-Solving: Strong skills in root cause analysis and problem-solving, with a track record of driving improvements based on quality issues.
Regulatory Knowledge: Up-to-date knowledge of relevant quality and regulatory requirements, with the ability to ensure compliance across all project phases.
Project Involvement: Experience in supporting and influencing quality throughout the project lifecycle, from design to delivery.
Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly to internal teams and external partners.
Desirable Skills

Risk Management: Familiarity with risk-based approaches to quality, such as FMEA (Failure Mode and Effects Analysis) and RCA (Root Cause Analysis).
Supplier Relationship Management: Experience managing and improving supplier quality standards, building strong relationships to drive performance.
Continuous Improvement Tools: Knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, or other process improvement methodologies.
Language Skills: Proficiency in German is a bonus, alongside fluent English.
Flexibility: Willingness to travel as part of the role, including international travel.

What can you expect from us?

More than just a job, we offer a future. More than just a place to work, we provide an opportunity to prosper.  As an employee of Urenco you will receive:

Annual leave starting at 25 days, which increases by one day for every two years of service up to a maximum of 30 days. In addition, you will accrue 13 additional days off to be used flexibly. There’s also a newly added scheme for buying and selling holiday, up to 5 days.
