Your new company is a globally recognised leader in the design, manufacture, installation, and commissioning of ground support equipment (GSE). With a rich history dating back to the 1960s, the company has evolved into a premier manufacturer, driven by a commitment to innovation, sustainability, and excellence. Headquartered in Northern Ireland and with a manufacturing facility in Georgia, the company employs over 400 dedicated professionals.
Your new role as a PLC Control Engineer will involve leading the full software development lifecycle, from design and development to testing and improvement of software solutions. You will develop PLC software control systems, create technical documentation, and provide mentoring and technical direction to the development team. Your role will also include developing solutions to meet customer requirements, working on R&D projects to expand the product range, and assuring product quality by designing electrical testing methods. Additionally, you will maintain your product and company reputation by complying with regulations and contribute to team efforts by accomplishing related results as needed.
What you'll need to succeed is an HND or equivalent in electronic/electrical engineering or relevant working engineering experience, along with a minimum of five years of postgraduate work experience in a similar electrical design role. You should have experience in software programming with Danfoss, Codesys, and Siemens, and the ability to read and create detailed electrical drawings. A detailed knowledge of current regulations and electrical design standards is essential, as are excellent communication and interpersonal skills. The ability to work well independently and in a team, good technical drawing skills, and experience of drafting to electrical standards are also required.
What you'll get in return is a competitive rate of pay, a health cash plan, pension, and life assurance. You will also benefit from discounted high street, gym membership, and insurance, long service awards, social events, a cycle to work and tech scheme, on-site parking, and an early finish on Fridays. This role offers a fantastic opportunity to develop your career with a leading-edge company in a wide range of industries.
