The Role

You will be supporting them developing their day to day and academic skills as well as their social emotional needs, in preparation for their transition to secondary education. You will have a timetable to provide interventions and cover classes across the school. As part of your role the school would ideally like to complement the work of teachers by taking responsibility for agreed learning activities both in and out of school, under an agreed system of supervision that supports the teacher with learning outcomes.

PRU or similar experience would be preferable. Restraint training such as PRICE or de-escalation training is desirable, however, not essential; as PRICE training will be provided.

The School

The dedicated staff team are committed to providing a nurturing and supportive learning environment that is adaptable to meet each student’s needs. The school offers stability needed to gain an emotional balance and wellbeing support to allow students to develop their self-esteem and a positive attitude to lifelong learning. Alongside the core teaching and support staff are a team of therapist and outreach workers providing the students with a rounded support programme.

The school is based in Wembley and benefits from being part of a larger charity focussed on improving the mental health and well-being of children.

There is an established leadership in place at the school who hold consistently high standards for their staff and there are good opportunities for professional development and career progression within the school.

If you have previous experience support young people with SEMH and behavioural needs and would like the opportunity to work in a supportive and progressive school, please apply immediately with an up to date CV outlining your experience.
