Our client, a prestigious global engineering firm based in Plymouth are looking for a Data Analyst / MRP Controller

Job Purpose

We are seeking a highly motivated Data Analyst / MRP Controller to optimise material resource planning, analyse data for process improvement, and ensure efficient supply chain management.

Role Summary

As a Data Analyst / MRP Controller, you will play a critical role in balancing production requirements, inventory control, and procurement strategies. Leveraging your analytical expertise and knowledge of MRP systems, you will ensure the seamless flow of materials and data-driven decision-making across operations.

Key Responsibilities

* Material Resource Planning (MRP):

* Manage and maintain MRP systems to align material supply with production demand.

* Generate and analyze forecasts to ensure optimal inventory levels.

* Release and monitor purchase orders, production schedules, and work orders.

* Data Analysis & Reporting:

* Analyze supply chain and production data to identify trends, bottlenecks, and improvement opportunities.

* Develop dashboards and reports to support operational decision-making.

* Provide insights on cost optimization, lead times, and supplier performance.

* Inventory & Supply Chain Optimization:

* Monitor and adjust inventory levels to minimize waste and downtime.

* Collaborate with procurement and suppliers to improve delivery accuracy and lead time.

* Ensure accurate Bill of Materials (BOM) and routing data within the MRP system.

* Cross-Functional Collaboration:

* Work closely with engineering, manufacturing, and procurement teams to align production goals with material availability.

* Act as a liaison between departments to ensure timely updates of project requirements.

Required Skills and Qualifications

* Bachelor’s degree in Business, Data Analytics, Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.

* 2+ years of experience in MRP/ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or similar platforms).

* Strong analytical skills with expertise in data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Excel).

* Knowledge of supply chain processes, inventory management, and production planning.

* Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

* Experience in working with large datasets and familiarity with SQL or Python is a plus.

Preferred Qualifications

* Experience in an engineering or manufacturing environment.

* Certification in APICS CPIM (Certified in Production and Inventory Management) or CSCP (Certified Supply Chain Professional).

* Proficiency in Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma principles.
