About the role:
As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will support children with Autism Spectrum Disorder by tailoring interventions to their individual needs, working closely with teachers and therapists to provide a consistent and holistic approach to education. You will foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment, helping pupils build confidence and social skills, and assist with extracurricular activities and trips to make learning engaging and enjoyable. This full-time, long-term role offers an immediate start and provides an excellent opportunity to gain valuable experience in a specialist educational setting.
Application Requirements:
• Have experience working with children with ASD or other special educational needs.
• Demonstrate patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for helping children succeed.
• Can work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Possess strong communication skills to engage with children, families, and colleagues.
• Hold relevant qualifications or training (desirable but not essential).
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide one-to-one and small group support for pupils with ASD.
• Implement tailored learning plans under the guidance of teachers and therapists.
• Support pupils in managing emotions, behaviours, and transitions.
• Promote independence and life skills development.
• Contribute to the planning and execution of enrichment activities and trips.
