Job Overview
The role is to provide excellent customer service in a traditional public house and hotel.
We are looking for a person who is hard working, a team player and willing to help wherever needed, as we are a team of around 10 full-time and 10 part-time staff. Fitting into our team is very important.
Whilst some training is provided, we are looking for an experienced person who has worked in pubs/inns as well as or rather than big chain hotels.
The person must have a good level of English as the role will involve taking food orders and serving behind the bar. You may also be involved in some reception work if you wish to; entering bookings and checking guests both in and out.
Duties
* Greet and welcome guests as they arrive, ensuring a positive first impression.
* Assist with seating arrangements and manage reservations effectively.
* Take food and drink orders accurately while providing recommendations when needed.
* Ensure food preparation adheres to safety standards and regulations.
* Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the front of house area, including tables and waiting areas.
* Handle transactions efficiently, utilising basic maths skills for accurate billing.
* Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely service and address any guest concerns promptly.
* Manage time effectively to ensure all tasks are completed in a timely manner during busy periods.
Experience
* Previous experience in a customer-facing role is preferred but not essential; we value enthusiasm and a willingness to learn.
* Knowledge of food preparation and food safety practices is advantageous.
* Strong time management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
* A friendly attitude with the ability to help guests feel comfortable and valued during their visit.
