Work for a leading engineering consultancy specializing in Building Services. Join a dynamic team of experienced engineers and designers providing innovative and sustainable solutions for a range of projects across various sectors, in the UK and Internationally.

The firm is independently owned by the Directors and employees, all based together in one office, supporting each other without corporate interference or distractions irrelevant to project delivery. They can provide technical support when needed, but otherwise trust employees to independently manage their workload.

As a Principal Electrical Engineer, you will be responsible for leading the electrical design solutions on complex projects from initial concept through to final delivery, represent the business in front of clients and architects, and provide mentorship and guidance to more junior team members.

Responsibilities:

* Lead the electrical design on complex and large-scale UK and International projects across a range of sectors, including commercial, residential, education, healthcare and industrial.

* Manage the delivery of electrical design solutions in accordance with British Standards and relevant codes of practice.

* Produce detailed electrical designs and specifications for projects, ensuring compliance with performance requirements and energy efficiency standards.

* Undertake detailed calculations and simulations to validate the electrical design solutions.

* Attend site visits and meetings with clients, architects, and contractors.

* Work collaboratively with other engineers and design team members to ensure project deadlines and deliverables are met.

* Mentor junior engineers to ensure their development and provide technical guidance.

* Maintain up-to-date knowledge of current and emerging electrical design technologies and practices.

Requirements:

* Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.

* Minimum of 8 years' UK experience in electrical design engineering within the building services industry.

* Ideally Chartered Engineer status.

* Knowledge and experience of British Standards and relevant codes of practice.

* Proficient in AutoCAD and Revit.

* Experience in using electrical design software such as Amtech, Dialux, or equivalent.

* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

* Proven ability to lead and manage a team.

* Ability to work collaboratively within a team.
