Graduate Asset Engineer – Biomass Power Station

Circa £35,000 + bonus + benefits

Cramlington, Northumberland

MC Technical Recruitment are currently recruiting for a Graduate Asset Engineer to join a business that provides asset management services across the renewable energy sector in the UK. The Asset Engineer will be responsible for assisting the Asset Manager with respect to operational, budgeting and reporting operations of a 27MW biomass power station in the Cramlington area on behalf of the plant owner.

As the Graduate Asset Engineer, you will be responsible for:

Assist in the preparation of monthly management reports to the owners
Ensuring compliance with statutory and other reporting arrangements regarding details relating to permits and agreements necessary to the operation of the plant
Assisting in management O&M  contracts and ensuring contractual obligations are being fulfilled
Review Operator produced documents including O&M manuals
Monitor and report on unplanned site shutdowns
Support the Asset Manager in tasks relating to fuel reporting
Liaise with the site Fuel Manager and the operations team to ensure fuel quality and quantity is coordinated properly
Assist in setting of operation and financial budgets for the plant
Review plant availability and efficiency calculations as provided by the Operator
Deputising for the Asset Manager when required
To be considered for this role you should have:

A recent engineering degree in a relevant field e.g. mechanical, electrical, chemical etc
Experience in the power generation or construction sector or similar, ideally with boiler, steam and/or rotating plant operations & maintenance experience
Good verbal and written communication skills
Good organisational skills and the ability to multi task in a fast-paced environment
Ideally, knowledge of UK legislation relating to the operation and maintenance of power stations
