Role Description
This is a full-time hybrid role for a Finance Manager at Woodspeen Training. The Finance Manager will be responsible for overseeing financial planning, monitoring budgets, analysing financial data, preparing reports, and ensuring compliance with regulations. This role will be primarily based in Huddersfield with flexibility for hybrid work. This role would suit someone looking to progress their career.
Qualifications
- Financial planning, budget monitoring, and financial analysis skills
- Experience in preparing financial reports and ensuring regulatory compliance
- Proficiency in financial software and tools
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Relevant finance or accounting qualification (e.g., ACCA, CIMA)
- Experience in the education or training sector is a plus
Role Responsibilities Financial Planning and Analysis: Lead the annual budgeting and forecasting processes for assigned business units. Conduct detailed financial analysis, including variance analysis, trend analysis, and scenario planning. Lead monthly outsourced payroll process including pensions. Financial Reporting: Lead the month end process to final draft format including preparation of the accounts pack. Support the quarterly, and annual financial reporting process. Monitor and report on the financial performance of business units, highlighting key drivers and variances. Track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure and improve financial performance. Support business units in achieving their financial targets and objectives. Prepare and present financial reports, dashboards, and performance reviews to business unit leaders. Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements. Cost Management: Report departmental expenditures to ensure alignment with budgets. Implement cost-saving initiatives and improve operational efficiency. Conduct cost-benefit analysis for various projects and investments. Cash Flow Management: Closely monitor the company’s cash flow, including cash reserves and forecasted cash needs. Oversee accounts receivable and payable processes to ensure timely collections and payments. Optimise working capital and manage liquidity effectively.
