Job Description

Are you an experienced Mechanical Estimator looking to advance your career?

If you have a solid background in estimating complex, multi-component rotating machinery and are eager to tackle high-value projects, this is the perfect role for you. Join this dynamic, employee-owned company and play a key role in shaping our success.

As a Mechanical Estimator, you’ll be responsible for a range of projects from £200k to over £30 million. Your role will start with enquiries from the Sales Manager and collaboration with the Engineering team on initial sketches.

You’ll then take charge of piecing together costings for every part and process, working closely with Purchasing, Production, Engineering, Projects, and sub-contractors. Your aim will be to ensure accuracy and completeness before refining proposals for our customers.

In this Mechanical Estimator role, you’ll benefit from:

  • Working on bespoke, complex products designed to excel in demanding environments.
  • Seeing your estimates come to life as each project progresses from conception to completion.

To excel in this Mechanical Estimator role, you should have:

  • Significant experience in estimating complex, multi-component rotating machinery, with a strong technical understanding.
  • Solid awareness/understanding of machining and fabrication processes would be ideal.
  • Proficiency in reading & interpreting technical drawings, ideally in a machining or fabrication environment.
  • Experience with ERP systems, with the ability to leverage case studies & historic costs for underpinning estimates (training will be provided on their system, Epicor).
  • A meticulous eye for detail and accuracy in costings.
  • Experience with AutoCAD or Inventor 3D is advantageous but not essential.

Perks include:

  • Competitive salary of £40-£45k, depending on experience.
  • Early finish every Friday at 12 PM.
  • 33 days of holiday, including bank holidays.
  • Profit-sharing in a business with a £20 million turnover.

Standard Working Hours:

  • Monday to Thursday, 8:00 AM – 4:45 PM
  • Friday, 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM

This is your chance to make a meaningful impact as part of a forward-thinking team during an exciting period of growth.
