Monarch Healthcare, an established care provider, is recruiting for a Kitchen Assistant (Morning shifts include cooking breakfast) to join our team at Woodlands Nursing Home. Woodlands is located within a residential area of Ripley, DE5. We provide care and nursing support to older adults and individuals living with dementia.

Position Details:

  • Rate of Pay:The rate of pay is in line with national minimum wage.
  • Hours:32 hours per week - we can consider part time applications
  • Shift Times:Split shifts include the times of 07:00-14:00 and 15:30-18:00, there is a further shift time of 16:00-19:00. We work on a rota basis which includes alternate weekends and some bank holidays
  • Location:Butterley Hill, Ripley DE5 3LW (Please consider travel times, including on weekends, before applying)
  • Cooking:Morning shifts include cooking breakfast

We are looking for an individual who is caring, friendly and able to communicate with people at all levels. Previous experience of food preparation and kitchen support duties is required, alongside a food hygiene certificate.

The main responsibilities of the role include but is not limited to:

  • Assist with the preparation, cooking and serving of meals
  • Morning shifts include cooking breakfast
  • Provide for dietary requirements
  • Maintain a clean and hygienic kitchen and dining area
  • Maintain accurate records of food supplies, temperatures, and schedules
  • Ensure relevant standards are always met
  • Ensure statutory Health and Safety standards in the kitchen and dining areas.
  • Ensure all equipment is clean and well maintained.
  • Report any faulty equipment.
