What you'll do
We are looking for a Senior SOC Analyst (Shift) to act as an escalation point for Tier 1 SOC Analysts by further analysing and investigating events of interest and escalating to management when necessary.
- As a Tier 2 incident responder, undertake detailed incident analysis by relating data from various sources to assess if a critical system or data set has been impacted and advise on appropriate remediation.
- Mentor, support and train Tier 1 Analyst (and Associate Analysts) to improve detection capabilities and monitor performance. Provide quality assurance by regularly validating samples of work performed by Tier 1 Analysts. Respond to Tier 1 issues if the SOC Analyst is unable to resolve appropriately or is absent.
- Drive and monitor processes to ensure applicable reporting is gathered and disseminated.
- Compile statistics to monitor the performance of the Cyber SOC and submit to the Security Operations Specialist for review.
- Actively participate in regular meetings with the customer and other team members (e.g. weekly tuning telephone calls and daily Incident Response meetings) and action any delegated responsibilities.
- Continually look to identify and implement improvements to the services provided to customers.
Where you'll be
This is a hybrid role (2 days per week in the office) based from our Edinburgh site. More details will be provided during the interview process.
How you'll grow
The next progression for a Senior SOC Analyst could be the role of a Security Operations Specialist where you will provide technical leadership to a small team of Senior / SOC Analysts. Once you have gained sufficient experience as a Senior SOC Analyst you may be able to move into a Security Operations Specialist role.
