The Role
Operations and Sport Events Manager
As the Operations & Events Manager, your primary responsibility will involve supporting the Head of Operations and Events in planning and executing various events, including our esteemed hospitality venue, the Pegasus Lounge. You'll also play a key role in fostering the growth and progress of the Operations & Events Coordinator(s) and Operations & Events Assistant(s). Your dedication to providing exceptional customer service will be paramount. Your role requires clear communication, both internally and externally, will be instrumental. Building and maintaining strong relationships with stakeholders is another key aspect of this role. You should possess the confidence to meticulously plan and execute live events, demonstrating excellent organisational skills to efficiently manage your own and your team's time for optimal outcomes. Operating in a fast-paced environment, you must handle large volumes of information adeptly and possess problem-solving skills to address challenges effectively. Moreover, your resilience and ability to self-motivate, while also inspiring your team, are essential for success in this role.
Overview of Responsibilities:
- Oversee stock control, configurations, and bookings for ad hoc events, collaborating with venue account managers.
- Manage all aspects of assigned events, including design, talent coordination, and venue liaison.
- Supervise Operations & Events team, ensuring tasks are completed on time, within budget, and fostering career development.
- Assist Head of Operations & Events in implementing new processes to enhance operational and customer experience.
- Focus on Pegasus Lounge events, securing necessary resources for growth.
- Identify potential business growth opportunities in collaboration with Head of Operations & Events.
- Implement post-event feedback processes and collaborate on event improvement strategies.
- Organise presentations to sales teams for pre/post event debriefs and product knowledge workshops.
- Maintain effective communication between departments by liaising with Heads of Sales, Finance, and Marketing.
- Manage table plans configurations and collaborate with Operations & Event Coordinators.
- Utilise client feedback to drive improvements and action necessary changes with venues.
- Continuously review CRM practices and assist Sales Support with reporting.
One of Corinthian Sports’ principles values is TEAM and as Operations & Events Manager, the successful candidate will need to ensure that they are in regular communication with all over departments of the business including but not limited to Sales, Marketing & Finance to ensure that all departments strategies & goals are aligned with those of the business overall.
About You:
- Experience in managing a team
- Demonstrable business and financial acumen with a strong understanding of budgetary planning, forecast and stock control
- Strong project management skills and expertise in scoping and delivering events, successfully and on time and on budget
- Extremely agile with an ability to adapt to & navigate unpredictable situations as well juggle multiple events or projects simultaneously
- Strong understanding and use of Microsoft office
Desirable experience includes:
- Experience in the events industry
- Knowledge of sports
- Salesforce or similar CRM
