At our GKN Filton site, we specialise in the design and manufacture of large complex structural wing assemblies, detailed metallic componentsand wing systems for a combination of both civil and military aircraft.
The successful fabricators will be expected to work with a variety of industry equipment in carrying out various fabrication duties. We're looking for someone that has knowledge of precussion riveting, Drill/Ream/Countersink in panels and other skills as expected with the role.
The role will see candidates working day shifts, on a Monday Thursday basis, there is opportunity to work night shifts once fully trained which incurs an additional 33% shift premium
- Working with various materials (titanium, aluminium, stainless steel) in the manufacture of aircraft parts, across a variety of Airbus family of aircraft
- Ensure parts are produced on a right first time basis
- Responsible for the timely clearance of work phases using the SAP system
- Responsible for highlighting any non-conformance to the Process Team Leader
- Adhering to the requirements of the GKNAF Quality Procedures
- Accountable for Health & Safety requirements under Section 7 of the HASAWA 1974
- To hold first party inspection approval (M02 status is subject to obtaining A stamp approval)
- Responsible for general housekeeping within the area
- Compliant with all risk assessments and company Environment, Health & Safety Procedures relevant to all work activities

Essential:
- A recognised and relevant apprenticeship and relevant NVQ level 3 (Or equivalent)
- Previous experience in a manufacturing environment
- Ability to work to standard operating procedures
- Must be able to work in small teams with Team Leaders
- Self-motivated team player with good communication skills
Desirable:
- Knowledge of Lean manufacturing principles and techniques to support GKNAF continuous improvement initiatives
- Ability to operate CNC Machinery (Unison Pipe Bending machines, Power Presses, CNC Drilling & routering)
- Experience of swaging pipework
