What it's like to work here
On the outskirts of Cardiff, Dyffryn Gardens offer 55 acres of horticultural variety, including grand historical views, a magical arboretum and working kitchen gardens.
We’re a friendly team whose focus is on ensuring we deliver an exceptional visit for all our visitors. We focus on building strong foundations for our offers and on developing them each year to help deliver great experiences for our visitors. We’re ambitious too, with ongoing work to restore the gardens and an openness to exploring new ways of engaging our audiences with this special place.
Sut brofiad yw gweithio yma?
Ar gyrion Caerdydd, mae gerddi'r Dyffryn yn cynnig 55 acer o amrywiaeth garddwriaethol, yn cynnwys golygfeydd hanesyddol godidog, coedardd hudol a gerddi cegin gweithredol.
Rydym yn dîm cyfeillgar sy'n canolbwyntio ar sicrhau ein bod yn darparu ymweliad gwerth chweil i'n hymwelwyr i gyd. Rydym yn canolbwyntio ar feithrin sylfeini cadarn ar gyfer ein cynnig ac yn datblygu o flwyddyn i flwyddyn er mwyn helpu i gynnig profiadau gwych i’n hymwelwyr. Rydym yn uchelgeisiol hefyd, ac mae gwaith yn mynd rhagddo i adfer y gerddi ac rydym yn agored i archwilio ffyrdd newydd o ymgysylltu â'n cynulleidfaoedd gyda’r lle arbennig hwn.
What you'll be doing
You’ll work with the Experience and Visitor Programming Manager to ensure that every aspect of the visitor experience is high-quality and shaped by Dyffryn's story. This will involve working collaboratively across departments to deliver improvements across different areas of the property and playing a key part in implementing our interpretation plans – how we share Dyffryn's story and our work with visitors.
You'll manage volunteer teams, ensuring that they have a great volunteering experience and that they are well equipped to help visitors have a great day. You’ll support the smooth running of the visitor operation as a duty manager and daily visitor experience lead, ensuring that everything is working as it should and helping teams out where needed, especially on busy days. There is an expectation to work a minimum of one weekend day a month, with additional days during busy seasons, such as school holidays, and there will be occasional evening working.
We’d love to chat with you before you apply – please contact Caroline Dadd, the Experience and Visitor Programming Manager for an informal chat about the role – caroline.dadd@nationaltrust.org.uk.
