Newly Qualified Solicitor – Private Client

Location: Buckinghamshire


Job Description:

We are seeking a Newly Qualified Solicitor to join our client's highly regarded Private Client team in Buckinghamshire. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated and driven individual to develop their legal career in a supportive and professional environment.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a varied caseload of private client matters, including wills, probate, estate planning, lasting powers of attorney, trusts, and inheritance tax planning.
  • Provide high-quality legal advice to individuals, families, and trustees on all aspects of private client work.
  • Draft and review legal documents such as wills, trust deeds, and probate applications.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and legislation.
  • Maintain and build strong client relationships, providing excellent customer service.
  • Assist with the administration of estates, including obtaining grants of probate and dealing with HMRC inheritance tax issues.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues across departments to provide a comprehensive service to clients.
  • Attend client meetings and contribute to business development activities within the firm.


Requirements:

  • Qualified solicitor in England and Wales
  • PQE +3 years
  • Experience in private client work, gained during training or post-qualification.
  • Strong drafting and organisational skills with an eye for detail.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to manage a varied caseload and work under pressure to meet deadlines.
  • A client-focused approach with the ability to provide compassionate and tailored advice.
  • Familiarity with the use of case management systems and a willingness to adopt new technology.

Desirable:

  • STEP (Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners) qualification or working towards STEP accreditation.
  • Knowledge of tax planning and trust administration.
  • Experience in contentious probate matters.
