About the Role

We will provide you with full training and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to enable you to safely and effectively work as a Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer to

  • Carry out essential maintenance working through a programme of PPM
  • Assist in developing the agility maintenance system
  • Attend breakdowns
  • Ensure machine safety standards are kept to the highest level and ensure critical spares are maintained
  • Install / maintain electrical & electro-mechanical plant machinery
  • Improve factory OEE through development and innovation of the production facility
  • Operate a preventative electrical maintenance system
  • Program Siemens / other PLC equipment
  • Use various types of testing equipment to locate and remedy faults
  • Promote Lean thinking and actively look for ways to improve efficiencies
  • Actively contribute to the creation and review of RA and SSOW
  • Ensure adherence to Wienerbergers quality system & standards in accordance with BSEN ISO 9001

Hours of Work: 6.00pm till 4.30am, Monday to Thursday (nights)

About You

  • Preferably you will be apprentice trained, but with a minimum level 3 qualification in an Engineering discipline. Successful candidates will be asked to provide copies of their relevant qualifications / carry out competence assessments
  • ONC/BTEC HNC/BTEC or equivalent in Electrical engineering
  • 17th/ 18thedition qualified
  • Sound knowledge of Siemens PLCs s7 TIA portal
  • Time served Electricianwith experience of working in a manufacturing environment ideally heavy manufacturing (clay, refractory, quarrying, cement) or FMCG
  • Team player and strong communicator
  • Good exposure to health & safety standards
  • Excellent analytical & fault finding / problem solving skills
  • Good working knowledge of EHS
  • Passionate about improvement with knowledge of Lean manufacturing
  • Analytical & problem-solving skills
  • Good knowledge of electric motors / pneumatics
  • Sound mechanical knowledge and skills
