Job Summary
GRAHAM Construction is seeking an experienced Pre-Construction Quantity Surveyor to join our team at Faslane/Coulport. This role is crucial for managing the financial aspects of our pre-construction projects, ensuring cost efficiency and compliance with all contractual requirements.
Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and oversee all pre-construction quantity surveying activities.
  • Prepare detailed cost estimates and budgets for projects.
  • Conduct cost analysis and risk management.
  • Liaise with clients, contractors, and project teams to ensure accurate cost control.
  • Prepare and review tender documentation and contracts.
  • Monitor and report on project financial performance.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards.
  • Provide support and guidance to junior quantity surveyors and other team members.
  • Collaborate with the project management team to align financial objectives with project goals.
  • Conduct site visits and assessments as required.
Requirements
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Quantity Surveyor post-graduation.
  • Proven experience in pre-construction quantity surveying within the construction industry.
  • Strong understanding of construction processes and project management principles.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Must live within a 45-minute drive of the Faslane/Coulport site.
  • Must be willing to undergo full Security Clearance process.
  • No option for remote working; presence on-site is mandatory.

  • Proven experience in procurement and contract management.
  • Thorough understanding of the quantity surveying process, including cost planning and estimating.
  • Working knowledge of relevant regulations and codes of practice.
  • Proven experience of forging strong working relationships with internal and external customers.
  • Good IT skills, particularly Microsoft Word/Excel.
  • Excellent planning and programming skills.
