Senior Forensic Psychologist is required for our rehabilitation unit in Surrey, providing specialist mental health treatment for men aged 18 and over. The successful candidate will have a BPS recognised psychology degree, be HCPC registered, and hold Chartered Psychologist status with appropriate post-graduate qualifications.
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Senior Forensic Psychologist to join our team in Tadworth, Surrey. As a Senior Forensic Psychologist, you will be responsible for individual and group interventions, diagnostic and cognitive assessments, MDT working and risk assessments. You will also facilitate staff reflective practice sessions and be requested to design and deliver training.
Your Key Responsibilities
- Participating in the assessment of referrals, and to provide initial assessment service users referred to the service.
- Undertaking high quality direct (assessment & therapeutic) and indirect (consultative, advisory, and evaluative) specialist psychological interventions and making autonomous clinical decisions.
- Working therapeutically with service users with complex presentations, undertake the assessments using a broad range of structured psychometric and semi structured clinical methods.
- Formulating and implementing plans of specialist psychological treatment or management of patients' mental health needs based on a multi-factorial psychological understanding and current evidence based best practise.
- Maintaining high standards of care in all areas of practice and in accordance the HCPC Code of Conduct, professional guidelines and Company Policies and Procedures.
Your Requirements
To be successful in this role, you'll need:
- BPS recognised psychology degrees
- Be HCPC registered
- Have Chartered Psychologist status and appropriate post-graduate qualifications
- Be an approved supervisor within the guidelines of the BPS and relevant division
- Have understanding of evidence-based psychological practice
- Have experience of applying psychological knowledge to a forensic/clinical setting
- Be experienced working with clients with cognitive deficits
- Have previous experience of conducting research and project working
About the Location
You will be working at Sturt House in Tadworth, Surrey, a recovery focused rehabilitation unit providing specialist mental health treatment for men aged 18 and over. The service specialises in individualised care and treatment utilising least restrictive practice principles and safe practice to support Service Users in their recovery.
