Principal Software Developer

We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Software Developer to join our Racing Systems team at our Media and Technology Centre in Biggin Hill. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for mentoring and leading a small group of software developers, leading technical projects spanning multiple domains, and contributing to the design of modern software architecture.

Key Responsibilities
  • Mentor and lead a small group of software developers to ensure the successful delivery of projects.
  • Lead technical projects spanning multiple domains, including software development, testing, and deployment.
  • Contribute to the design of modern software architecture, ensuring alignment with our mission and goals.
  • Develop a broad skill set covering all aspects of the F1 software environment, including a defined area of specialization.
  • Provide onsite technical support for multiple race weekends during any given season.
  • Work flexible hours as needed to support project timelines and deliver efforts on time.
Requirements
  • Degree in Computer Science or equivalent commercial experience.
  • Considerable experience in a software development environment using.Net based development tools.
  • Experience with developing and supporting distributed event-based architectures built around message buses and event streams.
  • Experience with consuming and processing high frequency data in a real-time or near real-time environment.
  • 2+ years of experience with Amazon AWS services like Lambda, SNS, SQS, DynamoDB.
  • 2+ years working knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server.
  • Experience with NoSQL Databases such as Mongo or DocumentDB.
  • Full-stack experience with.Net development using C#.
  • Well-versed in Object Oriented programming concepts and patterns.
  • Fluent working knowledge of Linq and associated functional programming practices.
  • Proven experience of designing, developing, and maintaining Relational Databases.
  • Experience writing and maintaining Unit, integration, E2E, and regression tests.
  • Experience working with application metrics and monitoring with tools like Prometheus, Grafana, or Cloudwatch.
  • Understanding of AGILE development philosophies.
