Electronics PCB Design Engineer

This role is part of the Hardware Domain of the Digital Product Platform (DPP) Technical Centre within Product Engineering. As a PCB Design Engineer, you will engage in the development of electronic products, focusing on PCB layouts, component libraries, footprints, and schematic symbols for electronic modules/ECUs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design PCBs for electrical modules/ECUs, including layout, design calculation, and simulation
  • Create and maintain PCB library components/footprints
  • Produce detailed design requirements, documentation, and specifications for PCB development
  • Design and prepare for manufacturing readiness, volume production, and validation
  • Support the creation and maintenance of PCB design rules, guidelines, and constraints
Requirements:
  • Extensive experience in PCB design/component library engineering in the automotive, aerospace, or similar environment
  • Comprehensive experience in PCB layout and footprint generation from concept to high-volume mass production
  • Component library creation and management (PCB footprints and device parameter capture)
  • Experience in manufacturing test and access requirements at a PCB level
  • Good understanding of power supply topologies, interfacing to microcontrollers, power switching, motors, analogue design, digital circuits, high-speed serial interfaces, EMC, stability analysis, and vehicle network hardware
