Job Description


This role offers an exciting opportunity to join the Enterprise Risk Management team as a Risk Manager, working closely with the UK/EU Chief Risk Officers and ERM Senior Actuary.


As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for supporting the Travelers Europe ERM programme by collaborating with Risk and Control Owners across business units to develop and embed the Travelers Europe Risk Management Framework (RMF).


You will also work closely with experts from various teams, including Actuarial, Catastrophe Aggregation, Compliance/Legal, and Corporate Audit, to identify and mitigate emerging risks, and develop risk mitigation strategies.



Responsibilities



  • Support the development and implementation of the RMF across all principal risks, including Insurance, Market, Operational, Credit, Liquidity, and Strategic risks.
  • Collaborate with Business Units to identify and assess internal control environments, ensuring effective risk management practices are in place.
  • Develop and maintain risk reports, dashboards, and other materials to support the Boards and Committees.
  • Work closely with the ERM Senior Actuary to validate and review capital models, ensuring they accurately reflect business financial decision-making.
  • Assist with regulatory requirements, including Prudential Regulation Authority (PRA) and Lloyd's validation processes.
  • Perform stress tests on risk types modelled in the Travelers Europe Capital Models.
  • Collaborate with model parameter owners to design and implement appropriate tests for model inputs and expert judgement.


Requirements


To succeed in this role, you will need:



  • Project management skills, with experience working with functional management and building strong relationships.
  • A Bachelor's degree or higher in a numerate subject, such as Mathematics, Statistics, or Economics.
  • Professional certifications in insurance, risk management, or a related field.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to communicate complex ideas effectively.
  • Experience working in the UK/EU insurance industry, with knowledge of quantitative and non-quantitative risk management methods and tools.
