Job Title: Community Payback Work Officer

City of Edinburgh Council is seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual to join our Unpaid Work Team as a Community Payback Work Officer.

About the Role

This is a challenging and rewarding role that requires a strong understanding of the justice system and the ability to work with individuals who have been ordered to undertake unpaid work as part of their sentence.

As a Community Payback Work Officer, you will be responsible for managing a team of Unpaid Work Supervisors and ensuring that individuals are safely and effectively supervised while undertaking their unpaid work.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage a team of Unpaid Work Supervisors to ensure effective supervision of individuals undertaking unpaid work
  • Develop and implement strategies to promote pro-social modelling and challenge inappropriate behaviour
  • Build relationships with stakeholders and beneficiaries to ensure effective service delivery
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of projects to improve service delivery and outcomes
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • A strong understanding of the justice system and the principles of community payback
  • Experience of managing a team and developing strategies to promote positive behaviour
  • A recognised qualification in management or a related field
