About the Role

The Mechanical Fitter position at Daifuku BCS is a key role in our team responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing our material handling systems.

Responsibilities include:

  • Ensuring the system is operational and issues are rectified safely, quickly, and efficiently.
  • Performing diagnostic tests on the material handling system.
  • Performing mechanical preventative maintenance.
  • Troubleshooting mechanical malfunctions and breakdowns, performing repairs to restore the system to full functionality.
  • Checking freight data on SCADA system.
  • Monitoring the availability of spare parts.
  • Supporting the clearance of fault and materials jams.
  • Using the onsite MEX maintenance schedule.
  • Adhering to a Zero Injuries - Safety First approach.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • A mechanical trade qualification.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of mechanical installations, maintenance, and repairs.
  • Experience in mechanical drives, including gearboxes, conveyor belting.
  • Experience in pneumatics and Hydraulics, including Solenoid Valves, cylinders, and flow regulators.
  • Technical understanding of automated control systems in a Materials Handling Systems or high-speed processing environment.
  • A strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to understand mechanical assembly drawings.
