Manufacturing Process Optimisation Specialist

Manufacturing Engineer, a role that requires a unique blend of technical expertise and problem-solving skills.
Purpose
As a Manufacturing Engineer, you will play a key role in optimising production processes, improving quality and efficiency throughout the manufacturing cycle. Working for a world-renowned manufacturer, you'll be joining an award-winning team producing cutting-edge technology which is supplied across the globe.
Key Responsibilities
Some of your key responsibilities will include:
- Overseeing new product introduction, establishing efficient production methods and providing guidance to design and production teams.
- Implementing structured problem-solving techniques to resolve production-related challenges.
- Assisting with cost reduction initiatives and introducing innovative processes, techniques, and solutions.
- Training and mentoring operators on production procedures and best practices.
- Preparing estimates and managing costs related to job functions.
- Cultivating strong relationships with both internal colleagues and external suppliers/customers.
- Actively participating in Health and Safety initiatives.
- Leading Root Cause Analysis efforts to identify and address underlying issues.
- Identifying and implementing advanced manufacturing techniques.
- Analysing and planning workflow, space utilisation, and equipment placement to optimise manufacturing efficiency.
- Coordinating maintenance and repairs to ensure production equipment remains operational.
- Providing Design for Manufacturing (DfM) advice to the Engineering team.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Experience with modern manufacturing processes, particularly assembly of electro-mechanical systems.
- Experience with implementing Lean and/or Six Sigma methodologies.
- The ability to demonstrate successful processes and quality improvements within a manufacturing environment.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to work alongside a range of disciplines and promote a positive team environment.
- Highly organised, capable of managing concurrent and often competing priorities.
- Knowledge of CAD software such as SolidWorks would be beneficial.
