Wildlife and Water Officer

We are seeking a skilled professional to deliver our wildlife, wetlands and water work.

About the Role

The Wildlife and Water Officer will play a key role in delivering our strategic goals:

  • Nature in recovery: 30% of land for nature by 2030 equivalent to £1.5 billion revenue potential
  • Action for nature: one in four people taking action for nature by 2030 driving engagement and community growth
  • Sustaining our future: more diversity, funding, and carbon zero by 2030 fostering innovation and sustainable practices

You will join an established team to deliver advisory visits and support to farmers and land managers interested in benefiting from grant support for wildlife, cleaner water, wetlands, and nature's recovery.

Your Skills and Experience

To be successful in this role, you will need good ecological skills, especially for wetland and farmland species and habitats, with strong communication skills to engage and motivate farmers and landowners.

You should have experience of managing contractors and good strategic planning skills to respond to local and national water-focused consultations.

We work with organisations and landowners to protect and connect wildlife sites across the county, and we inspire local communities and young people to care for wildlife where they live.

Terms and Conditions

This is a full-time position on a fixed-term contract for three years (with potential extension) at a competitive salary range of £25,000-£27,000 per annum.

Regular travel within Worcestershire and occasionally further afield is required.
