About the Role

We are seeking a skilled CNC Miller to join our team at Willcox Matthews Ltd. As a CNC Miller, you will play a vital role in ensuring the seamless functioning of our equipment and facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain high standards of housekeeping and health and safety in the toolroom.
  • Manufacture new tooling to engineering drawings in line with timing plans.
  • Perform proactive maintenance and upkeep on milling machines.
  • Liaise with toolmakers, CAD/CAM programmers, and designers to ensure efficient workflow.
  • Investigate issues to identify root causes and provide information to the design department and management to prevent future occurrences.
  • Maintain tooling to the correct standards and manage stock of all tools and holders.
  • Report any concerns, issues, or repairs to the relevant teams.
  • Work systematically, following available instructions, and maintain cutters and equipment.
  • Meet health and safety standards and support others in doing the same.
  • Assist other areas of the business when required to carry out similar tasks.
Requirements
  • Time-served toolmaking apprenticeship.
  • Time-served CNC Miller Setter, Operator, and Programmer.
  • Understanding of technical drawings.

Desirable skills include manual milling, EDM experience, wire experience, bench experience, IOSH training, Six Sigma training, and proficiency with Hurco. Plastic injection mould tool experience is also beneficial.
