About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical CAD Designer to join our team at Cavendish Nuclear, part of Babcock International Group. As a Mechanical CAD Designer, you will play a key role in creating cutting-edge designs, leading on project delivery, and providing solutions to our clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create and maintain design documents throughout the design lifecycle, following ISO standards and meeting time, cost, and quality requirements.
  • Collaborate effectively with Design and other functional teams to achieve project goals.
  • Develop innovative design solutions and solutions to manufacturing/installation issues.
  • Assist senior designers with a range of activities, including estimates, quality control, and test procedures.
  • Fulfill Design Lead responsibilities for single discipline low-risk projects.
  • Maintain expertise in best practices across the design lifecycle, including customs and standards, and company policies (health & safety, diversity, etc.).

Requirements

  • You are someone who owns and delivers, who champions high performance, and is courageous to challenge the status quo.
  • Knowledge of CAD tools and General Engineering Drawing Practice.
  • Ability to build strong and influential relationships with key stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • Minimum HNC/HND in Engineering, or equivalent experience.
