About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced IT professional to join our team as a Group Application Systems Manager. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing the delivery and ongoing development of software applications that support and improve our management systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and champion the use of IT solutions to drive improvement in operational effectiveness
  • Review current IT solutions and identify opportunities for development and improvement
  • Engage with stakeholders to ensure consistency and alignment with corporate architecture
  • Project manage the implementation and ongoing development of third-party cloud-based software applications
  • Manage the STFC SHE website and ensure its content is up-to-date and accurate
  • Establish a service desk system for recording and resolving IT system issues
  • Manage and ensure compliance with General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) and STFC IT security policies
Requirements
  • Degree or equivalent experience in computer science, software engineering, or a related subject
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience of at least two of the software systems
  • Experience of IT project management and implementation
  • Ability to take initiative and proactive attitude to problem-solving
