Ecology Consultant Specialist Glasgow

This is a senior ecological consultancy role based in the UK, specifically within the Glasgow area. The position will involve working with clients across various sectors, providing expert advice and services on environmental matters.
The successful candidate will have a strong background in ecology, ideally with relevant qualifications such as a degree in a related field. They should also possess significant experience in the industry, preferably with a focus on species-specific licenses and certifications.
The role will require the ability to lead by example, provide technical guidance and support to colleagues, and develop strong client relationships. This includes identifying tender opportunities and delivering projects successfully.
The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, be able to work independently, and demonstrate a commitment to upholding professional standards and continuing professional development.
Key responsibilities of this role include:
- Providing leadership and direction to team members, ensuring they are equipped to deliver high-quality work.
- Developing and maintaining client relationships, with a focus on winning new business and delivering projects effectively.
- Serving as a technical expert, offering guidance and advice to colleagues and clients alike.
- Maintaining and developing own knowledge and skills, staying up-to-date with industry developments and best practices.
- Actively participating in performance development reviews (PDRs), setting objectives that align with company needs and personal goals.
In terms of required skills and qualifications, the successful candidate will need to possess:
- A first-degree in a relevant discipline, such as ecology or conservation biology.
- Significant years of experience since graduation, preferably with a focus on species-specific licenses and certifications.
- A full UK driving license.
- Fulfillment of CIEEM's Code of Professional Conduct.
- Working towards chartership (CEcol or CEnv).
